Context

Also called 貨幣司一分銀 KAHEISHI ICHIBUGIN, 川常一分銀 KAWATSUNE ICHIBUGIN, 亜鉛差一分銀 AENSASHI ICHIBUGIN All top strokes of 常 are straight. Regular pieces bottom left 2 strokes of 是 are crossing. Rarer pieces bottom left 2 strokes of 是 are not crossing On some pieces there will be a flourish or 'tick' on the left hand side of the 'Bu' 分 and even 'Gin' 銀. These are exceedingly rare. These strokes are referred to as 跳 jumping. Altogether there are 7 different variations, some more rare than others. 普通品 (Normal type- left 2 strokes of 是 are crossing and top strokes of 常 are straight) 跳分 (flourish on Bu character only) 跳分跳銀 (flourish on Bu and Gin characters) 明治手 (Meiji type) 非交叉川常 (left 2 strokes of 是 are not crossing and top strokes of 常 are straight) 非交叉川常跳分 (left 2 strokes of 是 are not crossing and top strokes of 常 are straight, flourish on Bu) 非交叉川常跳分跳銀 (left 2 strokes of 是 are not crossing and top strokes of 常 are straight, flourish on Bu and Gin) Specimens with fineness of .900 have been discovered.
