Context
Very similar to earlier issues under the same King, this variety is made of debased Gold, likely due to the ailing health of the empire. Kipunda was the final of the line of Shaka Emperors to be considered Emperor, with his domain only extending to the regions around Taxila in Punjab. He is known for his Gold coins, and debased gold coins were issued in the tail end of his reign and likely after in the same pattern by local authorities.
